The Legion of Mary is an international organization founded by Frank Duffy, to give honor to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Catholics of all ages are given an opportunity to do something positive for their church and community and to grow in personal sanctification through a program of prayer and service. Evangelizing is the goal of our Praesidium, Immaculate Heart of Mary. The Legion strives to bring Christ closer to the people and the people closer to Christ. Our Spiritual Director is our Pastor, Father Soprano. The Legion has many opportunities for spiritual growth; attending daily Mass, praying the Rosary and adoring the Eucharist, especially at Exposition. Corporal Acts of Mercy include: visiting the sick, shut-ins, nursing homes, the prison and providing parishioners with transportation to Mass. We also have an Auxiliary Membership comprised of those who are unable to be Active members. They serve as Mary's Spiritual Army by praying the formal prayers of the Legion and the Rosary. How will the Legion of Mary change your life? Humility takes over pride, selfish wants and desires become actions of loving care and doing for others who are helpless or ill. The Beatitudes become your way of life and help you build your stairway to heaven. We meet every Tuesday at 10 A.M. in the Large Meeting Room at St. John of God campus.
